Mediterranean Garden

California is one of five regions in the world with a Mediterranean climate. In these regions, plants have adapted to climates that are hot and dry in the summer and receive all of their precipitation in the winter.

The Mediterranean Garden features plants from the other Mediterranean-climate regions of the world, such as the Lion's Tail (Leonotis leonurus) from South Africa and the Jerusalem Sage (Phlomis fruticosa) and ‘Little Ollie’ dwarf olive (Olea europaea) from the Mediterranean Basin.
