As part of University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources, we serve our community by sharing research-based knowledge and sustainable gardening practices. Trained UC Master Gardener volunteers empower Nevada County residents with practical skills to grow food, care for gardens, and protect California’s natural resources through sustainable, climate-smart gardening.

Whether you’re a first-time gardener or a seasoned green thumb, we’re here to help your garden thrive in Nevada County’s unique climate zones.

Native Plant Roundtable

Gardeners! What challenges or intrigues you about including native plants in your landscape? Bring your questions this coming Saturday, October 10, from 10 to noon, to our “Native Plant Roundtable” at our Demonstration Garden, 1036 W Main St, Grass Valley.

Our presenters from this year’s series of native-plant workshops will share special tips about gardening with natives and then discuss the topics you all want to know more about. Ask our experienced Master Gardener native-plant gardeners your questions, based on your owngarden experience or on any of our native-plant workshops.

Demonstration Garden at the NID Grounds 1036 W. Main Street, Grass Valley. Visit our demonstration garden to see the many different types of garden spaces we have. Our interpretive signage will help guide you through each garden space and our individual plant signs will provide you with all the necessary information to see if a plant will work in your home garden. Open daily.
