Youth Development

The Tuolumne County 4-H program serves approximately youth ages 5-19 years through the volunteer efforts of local 4-H clubs, and through our school enrichment programs.

Sacramento County 4-H has four expanded learning programs: 4-H On The Wild Side, 4-H Water Wizards, 4-H Youth Experiences in Science (YES), and 4-H Cooking Academy.

You can develop and improve your leadership skills by participating in 4-H projects, meetings and events. All 4-H projects integrate leadership skills such as public speaking, project management, communication, team building, organization and negotiation.

4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential by working and learning in partnership with caring adults. As a program of the University of California, 4-H prepares young people to make a positive impact in their communities and their world while advancing the field of youth development.

Presentation Day(s) give members the chance to communicate an idea or concept to an audience. By going through the process of giving a presentation, members learn how to research a subject, organize ideas in a logical order, and practice public speaking skills which are valuable later in life.

UC Master Gardeners partner with a variety of community organizations to spread practical, science-based gardening information.
