What is Favorite Foods Day?
4-H Favorite Foods Day provides a “Learn by Doing” educational experience for 4-H youth members, whether or not they are enrolled in a 4-H foods project. Emphasis for this event is on nutritional knowledge, menu planning, food safety, table setting, and preparation of a favorite food item. Favorite Foods Day is open to all enrolled 4-H members.
Participants will:
- Design a menu
- Prepare one "Favorite Food" item from the menu
- Include a recipe card for the item they prepare
- Create a themed table setting
- Participate in an oral interview
