Kings County UC Cooperative Extension

4-H Fair

Please join us at this year's Kings County 4-H Fair!

4-H Fair is a free, annual county-wide event. Thank you to our sponsors and volunteers that make this event possible!

The Kings County 4-H Fair is an event that gives 4-H members the opportunity to exhibit the projects that they have worked on over the past year.  It is also a chance for members to explore other 4-H projects and hang out with friends. 4-H Fair charges no entry fees, so come on down and practice your skills.

The event is open to all active Kings County 4-H members; there is an opportunity for all projects to be exhibited in some way. More information about the categories can be found in the 4-H Fair Book.

Please note the 4-H Fair Dog and Horse Shows will be held on separate dates and locations:

  • Dog Show: Thursday April 30th at the Thomas Residence in Lemoore
  • Horse Show: Saturday June 6th at Path to Hope in Lemoore

Interested in being a volunteer?

The 4-H Fair is the largest event of the year for our program, and it takes many helping hands to make it a success! We are looking for both youth and adult volunteers who would like to assist with a variety of activities such as livestock shows, weigh-ins, event set-up and clean-up, award organization, and more.

Volunteering at the fair is a wonderful way to give back to our 4-H community while gaining valuable experience that can be included in your Project and Leadership reports. If you are interested in helping, please contact Cayci Hill at cdahill@ucanr.edu for more information. We would love to have you join us in making this year’s 4-H Fair a great success!

Release of Livestock Exhibits

The scheduled release time for livestock exhibits will be after the awards ceremony on Saturday.  Any exhibitor that takes their animal out of the fairgrounds before the release time will be fined $25.00 per animal in violation of this policy.  The fine will be due and payable immediately upon exiting the fairgrounds.

Pen/Stall Clean Out

Due to the rising cost of removal of soiled bedding materials from the 4-H Fair, only shavings (no straw) are to be used under any animals being shown during the 4-H Fair. Any member electing to use any other type of bedding material must completely remove all bedding from the fairgrounds prior to leaving the 4-H Fair or be subject to monetary penalties. Only shavings will be allowed to be dumped in the disposal area. There will be a $10 per head fee charged for any pens not cleaned by the end of the fair.
