About Me
Melissa has been part of UC CalFresh since 2013, where she first discovered her passion for nutrition education as a volunteer. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Cal Poly, she joined the program as a Community Education Specialist and now serves as a Community Education Specialist II.
In her role, Melissa has led and supported a variety of projects focused on garden-based learning, physical activity, and youth development. She especially enjoys working with youth through the Student Nutrition Advisory Council (SNAC), where she empowers students to take leadership roles and make positive changes within their schools and communities.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and finding new ways to stay active and connected to the outdoors.
