The Master Gardener organizers at the Hayward Community Garden are delighted to announce the creation of our new garden in Hayward.
The newest Demonstration Garden provides a perfect place for Master Gardeners to share year-round sustainable gardening practices. Master Gardeners are growing edible crops in two 500 square-foot plots, located front and center that provide a gateway to teach and inspire best practices in building healthy soil, attracting pollinators, and integrated pest management.

The garden is located in South Hayward at 25051 Whitman Avenue in a 5.3 acre community garden, maintained and operated by HARD. The community garden park includes a shaded education center, a greenhouse, potting tables, and a secure tool shed.
Activities and crops will change with the seasons, including evaluating and tending the current crops, and ongoing planning and designing. The current team of dedicated volunteers is busy transitioning from Summer to the Fall and Winter cool crops, while carefully following public health protocols.
