Succulents & Cactus Information

Organizations of Interest:

  • http://www.sacramentocss.org Sacramento Cactus and Succulent Society meets monthly on the 4th Monday at 7 pm in downtown Sacramento. Great group that has a lot of very experienced people as resources. Everyone who loves succulents or cactus is invited.
  • http://www.ccandss.com Another great group of cactus & succulent lovers that meets in Carmichael the first Thursday of the month at 10 am. Informative programs are offered monthly and lots of knowledgeable people to answer your questions.
  • http://cssainc.org Cactus & Succulent Society of America website. Not a lot of growing information but lots about the society.

Arboretums with Good Examples:

  • http://www.huntington.org/gardens/ Pasadena garden contains an incredible display of older plants.
  • www.ruthbancroftgarden.org Ruth Bancroft Garden is a beautiful nonprofit garden to visit in Walnut Creek.
    They offer plant sales, classes and beautiful examples of what you can grow outside.
  • http://arboretum.ucdavis.edu Great local resource has a Desert Garden.

  • Mid-May Carmichael Cactus & Succulent Society at Carmichael Park Clubhouse, 5750 Grant Avenue, Carmichael.
  • Early June San Francisco Cactus & Succulent Society at San Francisco County Fair Building, 1199 9th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94122
