SANTA BARBARA COUNTY HAZARDS, RISKS, AND PREPARATION
According to CalOES' MyHazards tool, Santa Barbara County is in a:
- HIGH RISK hazard zone for EARTHQUAKES;
- MODERATE RISK hazard zone for FLOODING;
- in or near a VERY HIGH RISK hazard zone for WILDFIRE; and
- outside a TSUNAMI Hazard Zone - however, when near the coast, be aware of tsunami warning signs.

ReadySBC Alerts is Santa Barbara County’s notification system that allows public safety officials to alert community members of emergencies and any necessary protective actions, such evacuation and sheltering in place. The Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management (SBCOEM) is a division within the Fire Department and is responsible for the mitigation, preparedness, planning, coordination of response, and recovery activities related to county emergencies and disasters.
Santa Barbara County AG Pass Program - Eligible agriculturalists who may need access to their farm or ranch for limited emergency response activities during a disaster should apply in advance and renew on an annual basis, their business' AG Pass with County Ag Commissioner's Office.
