What is EFNEP?
The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) assists limited-resource families gain the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and changed behavior necessary to choose nutritionally sound diets and improve their well-being.
Our bilingual community education specialists bring no-cost comprehensive nutrition education classes in English and Spanish to schools, community partners, preschools, after school programs, churches, health care settings, and more.
EFNEP helps families improve:
- Diet Quality and Physical Activity
- Food Resource Management
- Food Safety
- Food Security
EFNEP is federally-funded program through the United States Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA NIFA) that offers nutrition education to limited-resource families and children in all 50 states and U.S. territories.
