The Yosemite Gateway Prescribed Burn Cooperative (YGPBC) has announced a series of events to kick off the 2024 prescribed burn season in Mariposa and Madera Counties. 

YGPBC Happy Hour -- Mariposa County

Engage with YGPBC members and learn about prescribed burning efforts in Mariposa County.

Location: The Alley (back patio), 5027 CA-140, Mariposa

Date and Time: Wednesday, December 11, from 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.

YGPBC Happy Hour -- Madera County

Meet the YGPBC team and learn about prescribed burning in Madera County in a casual setting. 

Location: Idle Hour Winery and Kitchen, 41139 CA-41, Oakhurst

Date and Time: Thursday, December 12, from 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. 

Learn & Burn -- Classroom Day

A classroom-based introduction to prescribed fire covering safety, weather, firing operations, and other essential skills for prescribed burning. Registration is required.

Location: Yosemite Adult School, 49948 High School Road, Oakhurst

Date and Time: Saturday, December 14, from 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.

Learn & Burn -- Field Day

(Weather Permitting)

A hands-on opportunity to apply skills learned during the classroom session. Registration is required. 

Location: TBD (dependent on weather conditions)

Date and Time: Sunday, December 15, from 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
