New Groundwater Regulation May Impact Small-scale Farms - Our team is here to help!

New groundwater regulations may have an impact on your small-scale farming operation given that California is now regulating groundwater use through the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA).

The UCANR Small Farms Network SGMA team offers technical assistance and educational resources to support growers with groundwater management and SGMA implementation compliance. Our network of community educators also attends local Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) meetings to ensure that small farms’ perspectives are represented at the local groundwater management level.

Our team’s services include one-on-one groundwater consultation with growers, farm visits, trainings, and workshops. We are here to help growers understand SGMA implementation in their counties, as well as connect growers to groundwater technical services including

  • groundwater level monitoring
  • aquifer testing
  • pump repairs
  • groundwater impact analysis
  • and more.

Contact our regional community educators today to learn more about groundwater management and SGMA. Our team offers services in English, Spanish and other languages.
