Volunteer Leader Requirements
- 4-H Volunteer Leaders are appointed annually by the University of California Cooperative Extension County Director. If you are a current 4-H Adult Volunteer, to continue in the next year you need to re apply and be re-appointed by December 31st. Returning volunteers who have not completed the re-appointment process must cease all 4-H volunteer work beginning January 1 until re-appointment process has been completed and the volunteer has been returned to active status. A break in service occurs if a returning volunteer fails to complete the re-appointment process for a full program year (July 1-June 30).
- Enrollment is a 5 step process for "New Volunteers"- Interest Survey, Zsuite online enrollment, Adult volunteer online trainings (new volunteer courses), Livescan background check (new volunteer only), Payment of $30 leader fee to club (unless club covers)
- Returning Adult Volunteer Online Enrollment here: ZSuite Registration site. ZSuite opens to adults July 14th.
- ZSuite is compatible with Chrome and FireFox and is not compatible with Safari.
- The Health History Form pops up outside of ZSuite so, if you have pop-up blockers on, you may not see the tab open. Once the Health History form is complete and submitted, you need to return to ZSuite to submit your ZSuite profile.
- Once your profile goes from In-Progress to Pending Approval, you have submitted your profile.
- Returning Adult Volunteer Trainings Here: eXtension.org or https://campus.extension.org/course/view.php?id=1928
- New Adult Volunteers Start Here: Interest Survey, once done, an email will be sent with details on enrollment requirements.
Successfully clear a California Department of Justice background check (Livescan fingerprinting) initiated by University of California Cooperative Extension prior to their initial appointment. - To complete Livescan fingerprinting, you must contact elramirez@ucanr.edu or tlnewton@ucanr.edu upon completion of Interest Survey above (New Adult Vol. Start Here Section) to obtain scan application form. You may choose any provider offering services (prices subject to change). Be sure to provide the completed application when seeking livescan. It is required that completed form is on file with your 4-H County Office once scan has been completed.
