Recommended Zoom Settings
Configure these settings once to optimize your Zoom experience going forward. To access settings, sign in at ucanr.zoom.us and click Settings under Personal in the left navigation.
- Always mute microphone — mutes your microphone when joining a meeting
- Always turn video off — disables your camera when joining a meeting
- Display names — shows participant names in the meeting view
- Auto-copy invite URL when starting a meeting — automatically copies the meeting link to your clipboard
- Enable shortcuts outside of Zoom — allows keyboard shortcuts to work even when Zoom is not the active window
- Meeting reminder (mobile) — sends a reminder notification before scheduled meetings
- Waiting Room — keep this enabled to screen participants before they join and help prevent Zoom bombing
- Touch up my appearance — applies a subtle smoothing effect to your video
