Cathryn Johnson is a Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences Advisor for University of California Cooperative Extension in the Central Sierra, part of UC Agriculture and Natural Resources. In this role, she conducts applied research and administers the CalFresh Healthy Living-UC program (a SNAP-Ed program) in the four rural counties of Calaveras, Tuolumne, Amador and El Dorado. Cathryn received a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Wellesley College and a Master of Public Health from UC Berkeley, with a specialty in public health nutrition. She also holds a certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Her research and programmatic interests include food security, farm-to-school programs, community food systems, and infant nutrition.
