Healthy Soils Week is a campaign by the California Department of Food and Agriculture to highlight the importance of soil health. We thought our readers might be interested in some of the common questions our UCCE Stanislaus County Master Gardener Help Line receives about soils and fertilizers.

Thanks to donations from readers like you, our Pollinator Gardening project raised a total of $1,000. This amount will go towards our garden signage and pathway. We've sent out narrowleaf milkweed seed packets, which you should receive in the mail soon.

If you have a backyard*, you could be growing your own fruit trees! Did you know? Fruit trees can be kept under 6' tall so you can easily access the fruit.

Here at the Ag Center in Modesto, we are dreaming about next steps for our Pollinator Garden/Outdoor Classroom. You can see in this photo that native plants in bloom are quite beautiful.
