This week on In the Garden, we bring you a show from almost 10 years ago! We are Goin' Native! South Orange County has a couple of oases of beauty and inspiration that are about to celebrate their 10th anniversary here in 2025. Our host and UCCE Master Gardener Ann Liu talked with two leaders of Los Rios Park and Riata Park in San Juan Capistrano.

Fellow UC Master Gardener Laurie Menosky and the Executive Director of Goin' Native Therapeutic Gardens, Marianne Taylor, joined Ann in the studio to discuss California native plants and the gardens themselves, one of which is located within walking distance of the SJC train station. Learn what “20 is Plenty” means in regard to landscaping! There is much to learn about the natural history of the area, too. Kid-friendly and accessible to all.
