#26 Scribbling
Instructions in English
Congratulations, you found a UC 4-H Community Adventure Challenge! Let's have some fun!
Your challenge is to make your own creative animated video that allows you to go “incognito”. Creativity and technology skills are important attributes for an Adventurer who wants to go unnoticed.
These adventures are located all around Yolo County (a complete list of locations can be found on the navigation bar on the left).
Below are directions for how to complete this fun activity.
There are also other suggestions for what you can do at home to make it even better, below.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Open the web browsing app on your phone and go to scroobly.com
2. Allow camera access.
3. Choose to scribble your own character.
4. Draw a fish, using one hand of the model as the end of the tail, the other hand or the model as the top of the head, and the head of the model as a top fin (see my example below).
5. If you are filming yourself, find a safe place to set down your phone, so that the camera can record you moving your entire body.
6. If someone else is filming you, choose where they should stand.
7. Press the record button when you are ready. It will record for fifteen seconds.
8. Move your body around so that your fish looks like it is swimming. Jump, turn, duck, shimmer, etc. (click the image to see what my fish swimming looks like).
9. Now watch your fish come to life! You can download this .gif to your phone and share with others (It will save to your photos app).
WHILE YOU ARE HERE
There are two more adventures at this location, you can find the signs by hunting around, or using the map to the left for a more precise location. You might also want to continue to take a walk along the deep water ship channel. The paved road turns into gravel at the bridge, and as you continue you can see the port equipment. You might be able to catch a ship being unloaded of their cargo, or a train being loaded.
Want to make it even better?
- Can you draw other characters?
- Use your pet for the movement?
- Create a background?
- Add a costume?
- Incorporate a prop?
LOCATION (for those without a smart phone)
