#1 Path of Joy

Congratulations, you found a UC 4-H Community Adventure Challenge! Let's have some fun!
Your challenge is to make someone else happier. Optimism and empathy are key characteristics of an Adventurer.
These adventures are located all around Yolo County (a complete list of locations can be found on the navigation bar on the left).
Below are directions for how to complete this fun "Path of Joy" activity. You may choose to do all three levels of difficulty, each is a little different. Select which level you would like to try first.

BEGINNER

- Find a stick or twig nearby that has fallen to the ground.
- Draw a smiley face into the dirt so that people will see it when they walk by.
- Decorate the face with fallen nature debris found nearby.
- Leave knowing you have left something behind to make someone else more joyful.
1. Sit on the bench for five minutes.
2. Look for things that might bring you joy. Listen for things that might bring you joy. Smell for things that might bring you joy.
3. Find a stick or twig nearby that has fallen to the ground.
4. Draw a reminder message to others to pause and look/listen/smell one of the things that made you happy. It might say something like "Pause and smell the freshly mowed grass", "Stop and look for a butterfly", or "Take a second to listen to the laughter of others".

2. Think about something in your life for which you are grateful. Something that makes you happy, brings you joy, or for which you are thankful for.
3. Focus on this item for ten minutes. Recall as many details of it as possible; the sight, sound, smell, touch, or emotions in conveys. Hold that sense of thankfulness inside of you.
4. Find a stick or twig nearby that has fallen to the ground.
5. Draw a message of gratitude for others to discover. It might say something like "be grateful for beautiful sunsets","be thankful for the ones you love", or "I am happy you are my neighbor".

Woodland. Pioneer Park. On the far side of the walking track is a gravel path with a bench amongst the trees and plants. Search for the sign there.
