#7 Balancing Act
Instructions in English
Congratulations, you found a UC 4-H Community Adventure Challenge! Let’s have some fun!
Your challenge is to balance on the ladder in a variety of poses. Good balance is important to Adventurers as they explore.
These adventures are located all around Yolo County (a complete list of locations can be found on the navigation bar on the left).
Below are directions for how to complete this fun activity. You may choose to do all three levels of difficulty, each is a little different. Select which level you would like to try first.
There is also an activity you can do at home.
1. Find the balance ladder on the playground equipment. It looks like this:
2. Then, try to cross it in these different ways:
- on your tip toes
- climb over each rung, walking with your feet on the ground
- backwards
- sideways
- skip a rung with each step
- crouching down with your knees bent the entire time
- doing a “bear crawl” on hands and feet
- slide across on your bottom
