The University of California Statewide Integrated Pest Management Program (UC IPM) is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Established July 1, 1979, with funding from the California Legislature, UC IPM built upon a growing movement to reduce dependence on pesticides.

Jan Corlett, chief of staff to Vice President Humiston, retired July 1 after a 20-year UC career.

UC ANR presented its annual Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Awards June 18 to individuals and teams demonstrating exceptional performance, creativity, organizational abilities, work success and teamwork.

Marty Martino, UC IPM computer resource specialist, retired Feb. 28 after serving UC for over 29 years. He started working for the university in 1989 and joined the UC IPM Program in 1994.
