Dear colleagues,
Many in our community are navigating a time of uncertainty and worry, and we write to make you aware of some of the protections in place for you as a University of California employee so you feel informed and supported.
UC is providing notices (attached) advising employees of certain workplace and constitutional rights: UC’s California Workplace – Know Your Rights notice and UC’s Survivors of Violence and Family Members of Victims Right to Leave and Accommodations notice.
We encourage you to read the attached notices, which are intended to help you better understand your rights and the resources available to you. These and other required federal and state notices about your employment are always available to you on UCnet at ucal.us/employmentnotices.
At UC, we are deeply committed to protecting the rights and well-being of our employees. If you believe that any of your rights have been violated, support and guidance are available through your local Human Resources office, Academic Personnel Office, and Labor Relations office. Another reporting option is the University Whistleblower Hotline (or 800-403-4744), which is a confidential, secure channel for reporting suspected misconduct, with the option to remain anonymous.
Harassment or discrimination under UC’s Anti-Discrimination Policy may be reported through the Systemwide Office of Civil Rights’ File a Report form. For additional information, please contact your location’s Local Implementation Officer or Title VI or Title VII Officer. Please contact your location’s Title IX Officer for information about reporting harassment under UC’s Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy.
Thank you for your dedication, resilience and the many ways you contribute to UC every day. We appreciate you and remain committed to supporting our employees.
Bethanie Brown
Executive Director of Human Services
