Dear Colleagues:
We are on the verge of launching the Integrated Web Platform (IWP) – years in the making and a major milestone for UC ANR in modernizing our technology. Barring unforeseen circumstances, we anticipate the new ucanr.edu will be “live” on Monday, March 24.
First, we want to ensure everyone understands IWP's purpose, the timing and our approach. There have been several challenges along the way, so we thank you for putting in so much time and effort on this project.
Why This Matters
IWP is more than a website – it's the foundation for aligning over 500 websites under a unified UC ANR identity, and the beginning of standardizing our digital presence. What you will see is not the complete vision yet, but it is an essential step. Moving to Drupal is a positive move as it provides a strong, flexible Content Management System (CMS) that will support our growth and innovation and pave the way for our future successes.
Addressing Challenges
Our legacy systems and complex integrations – built up over the years – mean we will encounter some obstacles. Issues may arise, but this launch is about confronting those challenges to allow us to move forward. The IWP team will respond and help address those issues, along with the forthcoming Content Governance Council that will help align priorities and content standards and further advance the IWP project.
We're not stopping at “go-live.” Post-launch, we'll continue to monitor and share regular updates.
Your Role
Please focus on the bigger picture as this launch provides the foundational groundwork for what's ahead. We are thankful for everyone's efforts in learning Drupal, preparing for launch and continuing cleanup activities. And we appreciate your patience as we work to stabilize our new web ecosystem after this major transformation.
