Similar to previous years, UC ANR units including research and extension centers, UCCE county offices, the Second Street Building in Davis and the UCOP Franklin Building in Oakland will be closed from Dec. 25, 2023, through Jan. 2, 2024, except for essential services.
It is my pleasure to announce that Darren Haver has accepted the position of Director of the Research and Extension Center System, effective July 1, 2023. Darren, who joined UC ANR in 1999 as a postgraduate researcher, has worked his way up the UC Cooperative Extension ranks.

Dear Colleagues, I'm sorry to share the sad news that our dear colleague Dorina Espinoza has passed away. As I wrote on Oct. 2, Dorina recently had been diagnosed with an extremely aggressive form of cancer. She leaves two sons, Nicolas White, 26, and Anthony White, 24.
