Can I reuse jars & lids for canning? Give the scarcity of canning supplies, particularly lids, that began last year, people are asking about re-using lids and jars.

Buttercup oxalis, that is otherwise known as Bermuda buttercup, sour grass, or oxalis pes-caprae. This South African invader has charm. Its lemon-yellow flowers nodding over emerald leaves makes a lush foreground to the gray-blues of sea and sloughs.

Easter is right around the corner and one of the most commonly gifted plant during this holiday is the Easter Lily (Lilium longiflorum).

The perennials: rosemary; thyme; mints; oregano; sage, and annuals: basil; parsley; chives; dill & more, all can be preserved for year-round use as seasonings or for tea. Herbs should be harvested before they blossom, picked soon after the morning dew has dried for best quality.

Muhlenbergia capillaris (Pink Muhly Grass) has offered a delightful sight, to visitors, through the fall and winter in the Moss Family Temperate Woodland Garden. It is planted near Berberis thunbergii Gold Ring', which has a strong burgundy color in its leaves and through winter in its naked stems.
