In February of 2020, IGIS welcomed a new student worker to the IGIS team. Hannah Lopez, an undergraduate at UC Berkeley majoring in Forestry and GIS, joined IGIS during the final semester of her senior year.

ONLINE In June 2020, IGIS hosted the 4th annual DroneCamp in collaboration with CSU Monterey Bay, the UC Unmanned Aircraft System Safety office, and Monterey Bay DART.

My usual update from ESRI UC is a bit tougher this year, since I am working from home, and on one screen. So note taking is a bit rough. And I kind of miss the whole razz-ma-tazz of Day 1 on site. But here goes: OK, so Jacks Plenary is the always place to get a big view of new releases in software.

DroneCamp is IGIS's flagship event of the year. Now in it's 4th year, the program started out as a 2 1/2 day mash-up of several half-day workshops created by Sean Hogan on using drones for research data collection.
