Strawberries and Caneberries

Just picking one of my strawberry trials this morning (yes, yes, I pick by myself, usually the nearest person is like a quarter of a mile away - it's pretty therapeutic actually) and I happened across this little guy wandering about on top of the bed plastic.

Rationale: Reversion, meaning the reddening of part or all of a blackberry fruit after harvest, has become a major problem for blackberry growers across the United States who can lose up to 25% of their total crop to this phenomenon.

I have to concede that from what I've seen lately, Japanese candy vendors really know their craft when it comes to quality and marketing.

Mark here - hey folks this concept of transmitting fungal inoculum from field to field on people's feet and equipment has been one I've been talking about for a while, and now here you have the scientific evidence from some of our finest scientists at the UC.

While I do enjoy the company of my family and others here at home during the shelter in place order, nevertheless sitting around on my can all day just writing, reading and talking on the phone isn't exactly what I signed up for folks.
