The first Thursday of every month on the In the Garden radio show, UCCE Master Gardeners Teena Spindler and Katrina Kirkeby will bring you the monthly checklist for what needs to be done in the upcoming month in your garden. Keep on top of weed pulling – don't let them go to seed.

Cool, moist soil will make it easiest to pull or hoe. Be sure, though, not to step into your plot too much as to compact that soil especially after rain. Watch for new growth on your fruit trees and roses as this will be the signal to start fertilizing. They mention various plants like asparagus, fuchsias, camellias, and clivia and where they grow best.
Learn up-to-the-month tips from these two Master Gardeners who have maintained their beautiful landscapes experiencing the same monthly experiences that you, our listeners, encounter. Pick up some tips here on KUCI this Thursday morning.
