I just finished the last of my wrapping for out-of-state packages. Hopefully, I can make my wreath today after I finish the rough draft of this blog. I really miss being able to volunteer in the annual Master Gardener Wreath Workshop.

I am heading out to my garden this morning with no major chores to tackle, just a little of everything that needs some tender tending and planting some new seedlings.
With shorter days and cooler temperatures, deciduous trees shed their glossy canopies of leaves. Leaves are everywhere blowing in the wind, choking roof valleys, and dotting sidewalks.
I am talking about the herb Basil with the botanical genus name of Ocimum, from the Greek word okimon, meaning smell. It's a very appropriate name for this herb because it sure has a nice, strong fragrance.
