Seasonal observations by UC Master Gardeners of Solano County
Our naturalists were full of information on the plant life that surrounded us on the hikes in the temperate, coastal rainforests of Southeastern Alaska. Annual rainfall there can vary from 60 to 200 inches.
Who loves seeing butterflies in the garden? The Gulf Fritillary Butterfly range in the U.S. is wide. From North Carolina to Florida and the Southern states to the Midwest and into California. It was first seen and recorded in the Bay area in 1908.
