Under the Solano Sun
Seasonal observations by UC Master Gardeners of Solano County
The end of April my husband and I had the opportunity to fly down to Paso Robles in a small airplane, a Cessna 182. We took off from Nut Tree airport and headed out over Travis Air Force Base and the Rio Vista area.
I was wandering around my garden enjoying the glorious spring blooms. Here are 3 of my favorites. This beautifulpelargonium is at least 10 years old, greeting visitors on the front walkway.
The first home I ever owned was a new-build patio home in a new subdivision built on what had been an old almond orchard. The front yard landscaping that came with it contained a tiny patch of sod, a Modesto Ash and an oleander.
I'm having an affair with sugar snap peas. Every year, around this time, we meet in the garden. I often think should we go inside?, but many times we don't make it into the house.
