A Quick Guide for Local 4-H Leaders in Inyo and Mono Counties
As a 4-H leader you probably will need a place to meet. Local 4-H staff can help with this process!
We recommend you start here. Read on.
4-H has access to meeting rooms and locations throughout Inyo and Mono counties. Some of these rooms are easier to use than others and require more planning.
Common venues for 4-H meetings include:
- Inyo County meeting rooms (clean, quiet projects only, usually business hours )
- Tri-County Fairgrounds (Patio and Tallman Buildings)
- Mono County Community Centers
- Local school facilities
- Business meeting rooms
- Parades and community gatherings
- Parks and outdoor locations
All of these locations will require advance reservation to use.
To schedule Inyo County and fairgrounds reservations, contact the 4-H office to make arrangements. There is nothing to sign. Do not make these arrangements on your own. We need to handle these.
For all others, feel free to reach out to the site yourself to make any reservations and to check on availability. As this is California, most will require a signed Facility Use Agreement before the event.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT SIGN ANY AGREEMENTS AS A 4-H LEADER.
You are affiliated with the University of California, and there are legal ramifications to that association. Please forward any paperwork to the 4-H office. In all likelihood, we will be modifying the agreement to meet legal requirements. This may take a little time. While we usually turn paperwork around the same day we receive it, please give us as much notice as possible before the event in case any issues arise. Most commonly used locations know our procedure and there are few problems. A few locations take a couple weeks to complete the process.
As the leader, you will be responsible for picking up and returning a key for most sites. Be aware that many offices close before 5:00 P.M.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. And remember: don't sign anything on behalf of 4-H.
