Returning Adult Volunteers

Welcome Back to 4-H!

Thank you for your continued support as a 4-H adult volunteer. You play an important role in the development of young people, helping them to identify their spark and develop the skills and positive outcomes that lead to thriving. Below are the steps to being reappointed as a volunteer. You are an asset to the 4-H Youth Development Program, and we look forward to working with you again!

Step 1: Enroll in ZSuite

Log into your household account in ZSuite, access your adult profile using your PIN, and click “Enroll for 2025-2026.”

  • You will be asked to choose a Primary Unit. This is the club that you have chosen to be your 4-H home base. Select one for now, you can always change it later.

  • Adult Volunteers do not need to add a project. If you are going to be a project leader, your project will be added to ZSuite once your membership is made active and your Annual Project Plan has been submitted to the 4-H Office. Projects can be added at any time.

  • Once you click submit you will receive an email confirmation that your application has been received and is waiting for approval. Your 4-H enrollment status will show as pending until all enrollment steps are completed.

The 4-H Enrollment System will be closed from June 23th through August 15th. Enrollment for the 2025-2026 year begins at noon on August 15th.

Step 2: Pay 4-H Program Fees

Submit your $30 adult registration fee online or to your county 4-H office. NOTE: $1.25 processing fee added for credit cards.

Step 3: Complete eXtension Course

Log into your eXtension account and click “2025-2026 California Returning Volunteer Course”. After entering the enrollment key, click "Enroll Me".

Returning Volunteer Course Modules

Step 4: Submit a Project Plan (Project Leaders Only)

If you are a 4-H Project Leader, your last step is to submit a project plan for each project that you will be leading. Once your project plan has been received, your project will be added to ZSuite for members to join.

SUBMIT PROJECT PLAN ONLINE  --OR--

DOWNLOAD PROJECT PLAN TEMPLATE and email completed plan to your county 4-H office.

Enrollment Completion

After your county 4-H office reviews the enrollment, you will receive an email sent to your Family email account to confirm your enrollment status as Active. Once your enrollment is active, you may begin 4-H activities!  You may access your 4-H profile at any time of the year to change what projects you are involved in, update your health information, etc. Note: The lead project leader must complete enrollment before their project will be made available to members.
