Tribal Emergency Management: Building Resilience Through Sovereignty and Community Preparedness
MK Youngblood presents on how Tribes approach emergency management within the framework of sovereignty, cultural traditions, and modern challenges. Youngblood will also share examples of innovative practices and lessons learned that can benefit both Tribal and non-Tribal communities.

About the Speaker:
Youngblood has over thirty years of public service/first responder experience with a core proficiency in Indian Law, Indian Culture and Disaster cleanup. He is also an instructor certified by the Department of Energy, Emergency Management Institute, and the Center for Domestic Preparedness. He has been accepted into a Doctorate Program at Fielding Graduate University in Organizational Development and Change with an emphasis in Safety. Most recently, he has given presentations for regional safety organizations, developed adult education curriculum for use nationwide, and written peer-review articles for safety in the utility industry.
