Dustin Tran, Cal Poly Master’s student, conducted research on the factors and barriers to the success of collaborative conservation groups, including the Central Coast Rangeland Coalition. His research has involved interviewing past and present Steering Committee members. He has used the information collected from these interviews to design potential strategies for improving CCRC membership. In this presentation, Dustin synthesizes his research findings and presents a proposal to:
- Promote increased rancher engagement and outreach for CCRC membership and on the Steering Committee
- Increase new membership more broadly, including environmental organizations
- Target younger members
- Create interest/urgency during CCRC events
