Handling and Storage

  • Freezing:  Place the original plastic container of fresh blueberries in a resealable plastic bag and store in the freezer for up to six months.  When ready for use, remove the blueberries, rinse, and enjoy

Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes

1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon artificial sweetener
1/2 cup blueberries

1. Sift together flour and baking powder
2. Beat together the egg, milk, salt, and artificial sweetener.  Stir in flour mixture until moistened.  Add blueberries
3. Cook pancakes on medium heat for about 1 1/2 minutes or until golden brown

Tropical Blueberry Smoothie

2 cups mixed pineapple, mango, strawberries, and peaches
1/4 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup low-fat strawberry yogurt
1 cup orange juice

1. Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth
