Research

Scientists conduct research projects at Lindcove REC such as evaluating new varieties, finding better ways to grow trees, and new ways to manage pests of citrus, avocado, walnut, olive and pomegranate trees. LREC provides researchers with plots that they can manipulate in any way they choose, which is something they cannot do in a grower orchard, where yields and tree health need to be protected. In addition, researchers can test their hypotheses at LREC in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley growing region, making their research valuable for regional growers.
