Dear members of the Monterey County 4-H Leaders Council, On Tuesday, March 19th, the 4-H Leaders Council will hold its monthly meeting at 7pm. The location will be inside the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds. All 4-H families are invited to attend and, take part in the councils discussion and planning.

Dear Colleagues, Within our new financial system, the new Chart of Accounts accounting structure and Oracle software are vastly different from our old structure and systems. During the transition and adjustment period, the Aggie Enterprise team is actively managing resolutions to issues.

As i sit here facing our large window looking at the front yard, I can see new growth on the nasturtium, light green leaves on the tip of the passionflower vine, I can feel spring coming our way. The sun is shining brightly.

This post is dedicated to one of my favorite perennials in the garden, Mystic Spires Blue Salvia, Salvia longispicata x farinacea. Why do I love this plant so? Let me count the ways: First, Mystic Spires is easy to grow, fairly disease and pest free and blooms constantly from early summer to frost.

Dear Colleagues, CalFire is soliciting proposals for their Urban and Community Forestry Grants program. The mission of this program is to advance the development of sustainable and accessible urban and community forests in California.

The crowd at the recent UC Davis emeriti celebration listened closely to the presentation delivered by butterfly guru Art Shapiro, UC Davis distinguished professor emeritus, who has been monitoring butterfly populations in Central California since 1972.
