Over 85 species of container stock and over 2000 seed collections that represent 243 species are grown/housed at the nursery. All the projects conducted at the nursery are controlled under protocols strict enough to avoid negative impact to the special and unique environment of the island.
In April 2016, the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board adopted a Conditional Waiver of Waste Discharge Requirements for Irrigated Agricultural Lands, which will be in effect until April 14, 2021. Education is a cornerstone of the Ag Waiver program.
