CalFresh is a state funded program that provides benefits to low-income state residents in buying groceries every month. People that benefit from this program are eligible to receive up to $192 per month for groceries.

Last week, I held my first California Cattle Grazing School at the UC Sierra Foothill Research and Extension Center in Browns Valley. The two-day school, an adaptation of Roger Ingram's long-running California Grazing Academy, included classroom talks and field-based learning activities.

They'll target Zika, West Nile, Chikungunya and other vector-borne diseases. The annual UC Davis Research Symposium on the Designated Emphasis in the Biology of Vector-Borne Diseases (DEBVPD) takes place from 3 to 8 p.m.
