The Environmental Horticulture and Water Resource Management program delivers science-based education and applied research to promote sustainable landscape practices and efficient water use in the San Francisco Bay Area. The program supports a diverse range of clients, including nursery and landscaping professionals, community organizations engaged in urban greening and climate resilience, and public agencies managing land and water resources. Through collaborative outreach, the program advances practical solutions to regional environmental challenges.
In addition to its core focus, the program provides academic leadership and administrative support to the East Bay UC Master Gardener programs. This includes guidance and oversight for Master Gardener Coordinators and volunteers who extend horticultural education to the public.
The program is led by Jessie Godfrey and covers Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, and San Mateo/SF Counties.
