Bibliography Project and EndNote Information

Due Dates and Resources

Reporting publications in UC ANR’s Online Bibliography is required for organizational reporting. Please update your publications annually by the early December reporting due date.

Publication information is used for annual reporting to federal funders, UC accountability reporting, UC ANR’s Annual Report, and other advocacy purposes. A dossier export is also available to academics for use in the supporting documentation section of Merit and Promotion dossiers.

Instructions

  1. Enter citations into UC ANR’s Online Bibliography software, part of the ANR Portal Profile, by either:

    • Manually entering each citation, or
    • Using the EndNote XML import process

    Access UC ANR Online Bibliography

  2. Update your bibliography listings annually by the early December reporting due date.
  3. Optional: Use the “Bibliography Retrieval” feature to download citations into a Microsoft Word document for Merit and Promotion dossiers. Citations are automatically organized by publication type and chronological order.

Integrated Web Platform (IWP) Transition

Current State

UC ANR’s Online Bibliography is part of the ANR Portal Profile. Academics use the system to report peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed publications for annual organizational reporting and advocacy efforts. Publications can also be exported to Microsoft Word and displayed on public profiles.

Future State

As Site Builder transitions to the Integrated Web Platform (IWP), employee public profiles will change. Profiles will pull selected information from UCPath and portions of the ANR Portal Profile, such as working title, specialty, discipline, and biography.

The bibliography system will not migrate into IWP when the platform launches. After the stabilization period, ANR IT plans to gather enhancement requirements, including opportunities to modernize publication reporting workflows.

What UC ANR Academics Should Do

  • Continue reporting peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed publications in the ANR Portal Profile Bibliography System for the foreseeable future, including at minimum the 2024 and 2025 reporting cycles.
  • Tip: To display publications on your new IWP public profile, export publications from the ANR Online Bibliography into Microsoft Word and copy the text into your IWP profile.
  • Be prepared for future changes as UC ANR evaluates ways to modernize publication reporting processes, including emerging federal reporting requirements involving DOI-based reporting.

Optional: Get EndNote

UC ANR does not maintain an EndNote license. As UC Davis affiliates, UC ANR employees may purchase EndNote through UC Davis OnTheHub.
