Resource Planning and Management

The Resource Planning and Management (RPM) Office supports the administration, analysis, and reporting of UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) budgetary resources. RPM serves as a key resource adviser to leadership across three functional areas: Budget Operations, Reporting & Analysis, and Capital Planning.

What We Do

ANR receives and generates approximately $300 million per year in budgeted funds, including state, federal, county, endowment, capital, investment, and other sources. RPM manages these resources through policy recommendations, procedure development, and guidelines to ensure funds are used effectively. RPM also serves as the liaison with campus and system-wide budget offices.

Budget Operations

Manages salary and benefits budgets, oversees division-wide staffing compliance, tracks academic and staff FTE, and coordinates funding for academic and staff range, merits, and promotions.

Reporting & Analysis

Analyzes fiscal performance, provides budgetary recommendations, supports the ANR Recharge Rate Policy and Review Committee, and evaluates business processes for improvement.

Capital Planning

Develops and maintains the annual capital spending plan, monitors project financial data, prepares capital outlay documents, and coordinates with units on long-range capital investment planning.
