About Us
Who are the Master Gardeners?
Master Gardeners are community members who have been trained under the direction of the University of California Cooperative Extension. Each volunteer completed more than 50 hours of formal classroom training. Master Gardeners help the Cooperative Extension office provide practical scientific gardening information to the home gardeners of our county.
How we serve Amador County:
- MG Office: Master Gardeners are available 10 am to noon, Tuesday through Thursday, to answer your home gardening questions by phone, email, or in person.
- Free Public Classes: We offer classes on a variety of topics throughout the entire year. Master Gardeners are available to answer your questions during breaks and after class. See our class schedule for more information.
- Information Booths at Local Events: Master Gardeners staff information booths and give demonstrations at various community events. Look for us at the Amador County Fairgrounds, various Farmers Markets, Nursery Clinics, and more.
