The San Mateo County Fair is open this year for our 4-Hers to participate in both the livestock show and youth exhibits. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the fair does not have all the animal entries available this year (non-market animals will be missing).

As part of our 4-H program, we offer projects through our clubs that focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Healthy Living, Civic Engagement and Leadership areas. Youth members participate by selecting projects that interest them starting in August.
A fantastic new class of Master Food Preservers (MFPs) graduated May 7, 2021 at Elkus Ranch! The volunteers were welcomed to the MFP community and presented with their official aprons, badges, and certificates along with a big round of applause for their accomplishments.
On April 9, 2022, the UC Master Gardeners of San Mateo and San Francisco Counties, participated in the annual Spring Garden Market and Educational Fair held annually at the San Mateo County Event Center.
It has been a wonderful spring at Elkus. School field trips have been booked to capacity, our Sheep to Shawl event and all summer camp sessions are full (sorry if you missed out).
