Finding photos Photographs are integral elements of ANR publications. ANR authors know the subject best and are responsible for providing useable photos for their publications. The development and selection of the photos is ideally done before or while a manuscript is being writtennot afterwards.
Many advances have been made in the process of preparing photographs for publication. Today, the prepress work for photographs is done in-house at Communication Services using advanced Photoshop software.
You can customize the attached sample letter and send it to the copyright holder of the material you wish to use. Note: It is an authors responsibility to pay any fees the copyright holder may require.
Communication Services prefers digital files but will scan slides if necessary and return them to you. Submit each digital photo in a separate file (not in a Word or Powerpoint file). When naming the files, include the figure number and a key word describing the photo in the name.
