by Mel Kendall Why do we care about pollinators? According to the Pollinator Partnership pollinators provide one in every three bites of food we eat. They transfer the pollen from one plant to another to create the seeds and fruit that feed the world, both human and animal.

Dandelion When true Spring finally envelops us, weeds pop up. Weed is an interesting word. It conjures up the negative but also the positive aspects of plants that have developed reproductive systems which disperse seeds by the thousands.

Your favorite, trusty garden shovel and trowel have been very well used through the years. Although now, they are beginning to get a little rusty, bent, scratched up, giving you slivers and maybe even broken in two.

Most of us on the mature side of 40 have heard of Carol Burnett, that witty American actress, singer, writer, and comedian of the last 60 years. One of my favorites and truly a great entertainer, she could make you smile or laugh without foul language or distasteful innuendos.

Nutrition Policy Institute researchers will present their collaborative research findings at the American Society for Nutrition, Nutrition 2023 annual conference in-person in Boston, Mass.

Congratulations to the UC Master Gardener Program of Riverside County on winning first place in the 2023 UC Master Gardener Search for Excellence competition.
