The 4-H program has a long history of record keeping. The focus reflects the importance of this life skill in our daily lives. In 4-H, young people have tracked their activities, events, profits and losses, skill development and learning experiences, and much more using the iconic 4-H Record Book.

Primary (5-8) aged youth are impressionable and respond to exciting and creative activities. This is an excellent time to enhance a child's learning experiences and self-perception. Being defined as a winner or loser at this age is a weak foundation for their development.
Enrollment Deadlines Enrollment is open throughout the 4-H program year, which begins on July 1st and ends on June 30th. However, deadlines may be set by clubs or by the county in order to participate in certain activities.
