P Confusion in the Avocados

It is such a simple little letter, P. It stands for the element phosphorus. It is often misspelled as phosphorous which is an adjective, but even in technical literature it is misspelled. But that's not the end. Phosphorus is an element that takes many forms called oxidation states.

Imagine you're in an Indonesian rainforest and a humongous bee, with a wingspan of two and a half inches, flies over your head. The world's largest bee, known as Wallace's Giant Bee (Megachile pluto), considered extinct since 1981, lives. It's not extinct, after all. You probably read the news.
