Central Valley welcomes new UCANR Advisor
Haramrit Gill is the newly appointed Environmental Horticulture Advisor for Tulare, Kings, Fresno, and Madera Counties. In her current capacity as an Environmental Horticulture Advisor, Haramrit's responsibilities revolve around identifying landscape plants that are heat-tolerant, disease-resistant, and fire-resistant. She harbors a strong interest in researching California native plants due to their sustainable attributes, which include superior adaptation, biodiversity enhancement, water efficiency, and soil health benefits. Our programs serving Madera County
Organizes, administers, directs and coordinates youth programs in cooperation with Madera County 4-H adult volunteer leaders. Programs are designed to meet the needs and interest of youth 9 to 19 years of age. Focus is on responsibility and leadership development.
Program activities are to plan and conduct applied field research and educational programs in agronomic crops and weed control.

Practical advice and problem solving for fruit and nut producers.
Provides educational information to vegetable crop producers in Madera County. Conducts research programs in tomatoes, melons, garlic and other vegetables. Serves Madera and Merced Counties.
Disseminates research based information from University, industry and private research to growers, processors and packers of grapes and grape products. Provides diagnosis of permanent crop plant diseases.
